August Housekeeping & Announcements

Hello, gorgeous people!  I'm finally getting back into the swing of blogging again and have some fun posts coming your way, ranging from outfits, shopping tips, posts on grief, my life in the comedy world, and even a giveaway!  But before officially launching back into blog life I wanted to do some housekeeping.

Me at the last practice we had, with two of my four puppets, Raquel and Veruca.

I am a comedian with plenty of pots on the stove.  If you live in the LA area and want to see PUPPET IMPROV, please come check out my shows.  I'm in a talented comedy troupe of actors, comedians, improv artists, and writers...and all of us happen to be puppeteers as well!  Our troupe is called Puppets Amok (please follow us on Instagram if you have Instagram).  We have at least two shows in August:

1. We have a show at the Clubhouse on Friday August 10th at 11PM.  Improv show!  Free!

2. We are apart of the Los Angeles Indie Improv Festival, which is happening in two weekends.  We will take the stage on the main stage of the Clubhouse at 6PM on Friday August 18th.  Free!

Hope to see you guys there!  We are cooking up sketches for both the stage and sketch and are submitting to other shows, so please keep an eye out!

About to watch a scene I wrote be filmed!

I'm a staff writer on the Amazon Prime show, The Chunky Zeta!  I have a whole blog post coming out about it, but for now here's a teaser: it's ridiculous and often absurd show about sociopathic sorority girls.  I'm in the writers room and helped outline and brainstorm the entire second season, along with all of the other talented and funny writers.  There are currently 5 episodes out and I wrote episode 2.3 (A Royal Flush).  If you're in the mood to binge watch something before my official post, have at it!

Myself with Torrey Richardson.  We play an expecting couple in our next video.

I'm in another comedy troupe, Pinup Squirrels.  NEXT WEEK we will have a video come out.  Stay tuned and follow us to watch it when it debuts next week!

Also, we tend to add improv shows (somewhat) last minute, but on the books we've been renewed for out monthly Inner Sanctum show at UCB Sunset.  Our show is Sketch Slam and it's always the 4th Monday of every month (this month being August 27th at 10PM).  We host a sketch competition where three teams compete; one returning champion from the month before and two newbies.  Are you a sketch writer in LA?  Email with the subject SKETCH SLAM SUBMISSION.  Not a writer but in the LA area?  Come watch!

I'm in the middle of trying to downsize my closet and make some side money.  If you've ever wanted to shop my closet, now is your chance!  Please follow and peruse my Poshmark closet!  Thanks!

Also...thank you so much to everyone who had kind words when I announced my mom's somewhat stunning passing.  It's been a weird summer but everyone has been so amazing and I'll never forget that.  I will be speaking about grief on this blog in the near future.

I hope everyone has an awesome Wednesday and I'll be back at it soon!

Hey, all!  I'm a big baseball fan and my mom is from Chicago so I grew up hearing about the Cubs history and am pretty amped to be here at game 7!  Anyone else into this year's World Series or have a fan favorite they're rooting for?
Anyway, I just wanted to do a quick post showing my fandom!  I decided to be silly and wear my Cubs tee with a skirt (same as my zombie skirt) from Retrolicious via ModCloth with bears all over them...get it?  Hehe. I'm not into totally normal sports attire, as I exhibited HERE. Stay safe tonight if you're out watching tonight!

Win $100 Towards a JORD Watch!

What time is it?  THE TIME IS NOW.  Okay, now that I've gotten my favorite line from a Kids in the Hall sketch that I saw when I was 12 out of my system let's get to business!  The time is actually time to register for a watch giveaway and/or get a coupon, all thanks to JORD Watches. (Pronounced "Youd" as in like toad or road.  OR "Yoda" with no "a.")

Check out THIS LINK to try to get $100  towards a JORD watch and free sizing AND shipping.  This will go on for two weeks, so hop to it!  You can also get a $25 coupon with the code "blairosaurus" over the next two weeks too.  And if there's any menfolk out there reading, JORD has both women and mens watches.  Yay!

I'm rocking the Frankie Purple and Plum and seriously loving it.  I love how big the face is and it compliments my hair and many of my frequent signature colors that I wear.  The watches are made from wood so they're very durable and sturdy.  I thought the watches w…

Comedy and Tragedy

It was the best of times, and it was the worst of times.  I generally hate cliche quotes that can easily be slapped on memes or on the coffee mug of a basic b!tch, but I'm hard pressed to find a better phrase to describe my life currently.  In short: I've been having the most fun that I've ever had in the eight months since I moved to LA, but then the emergency breaks got slammed on my life when my mother fell gravely ill and passed away two weeks later on June 6th.
I'm currently back in LA, after being gone for three weeks.  I'm looking forward to continuing my comedy journey, as I feel it will save me from myself at this time.  But while I'm functioning okay as I'm still in a great deal of shock and my current mode is auto pilot, certain hours of the day prove to me that I'm very jumbled up and confused about my mom's passing.  I suddenly don't know what I'm in for and I don't know what I'm doing.
Not knowing what I'm doing …
