Review: Bernie Dexter Sloan Dress

How amazing is this dress???  I think I'm in the minority of Bernie Dexter fans in that I'm thrilled she has released a few styles that are of shorter lengths.  Most women in Bernie's fan groups seem happier when longer lengths come out.  Don't get me wrong--I do love me a tea length dress and I'm obsessed with 1970s maxi dresses!  But I like variety so I'm always excited when more novelty print/vintage based brands have shorter lengths too.

In case you were wondering, I'm wearing the Bernie Dexter Sloan dress and the print in Honeycomb (which comes in other styles if this style isn't your jam).  I really love the fit of this dress!  It's slightly tight in the waist and there's a part of me that wishes I got a small instead of my usual extra small, but it's not like I'm kicking myself for it.  This is also a BOOB dress!  As someone who is smaller chested, this is a fun dress for me because I get to show off the goods whereas other dresses don't do  the ladies justice (small doesn't mean bad, remember).  So this rarity is a novelty for me.  However if you are are modest 24/7 this is not the dress for you.

The only thing that makes me nervous the the fabric line on the back.  It's adorable and adds character to the dress, but it's also so thin that I'm afraid I will accidentally snap it while changing.

My awesome alligator necklace is from DesignosaurYEAH.  The rest of the outfit details are currently sold out, but for eBay and second hand store search purposes, the Gilligan's Island brooch is from Atomic Lucite, the bag is Kate Spade, and the shoes are ModCloth.  This is a great example of mixing prints and having fun with colors in a seamless over chaotic way.

How was everyone's new year??  Mine was surprisingly good!  I wasn't expecting to do too much because I'm so new in town, but I guess I've made real friends as I was invited to a few places!  I landed on hanging out with one of my new comedy buds and we went to a theater that was hosting a party and a slew of other comedy people were there.  Fun times!  Hope 2018 is treating everyone well so far!

Hey, all!  I'm a big baseball fan and my mom is from Chicago so I grew up hearing about the Cubs history and am pretty amped to be here at game 7!  Anyone else into this year's World Series or have a fan favorite they're rooting for?
Anyway, I just wanted to do a quick post showing my fandom!  I decided to be silly and wear my Cubs tee with a skirt (same as my zombie skirt) from Retrolicious via ModCloth with bears all over them...get it?  Hehe. I'm not into totally normal sports attire, as I exhibited HERE. Stay safe tonight if you're out watching tonight!

Comedy and Tragedy

It was the best of times, and it was the worst of times.  I generally hate cliche quotes that can easily be slapped on memes or on the coffee mug of a basic b!tch, but I'm hard pressed to find a better phrase to describe my life currently.  In short: I've been having the most fun that I've ever had in the eight months since I moved to LA, but then the emergency breaks got slammed on my life when my mother fell gravely ill and passed away two weeks later on June 6th.
I'm currently back in LA, after being gone for three weeks.  I'm looking forward to continuing my comedy journey, as I feel it will save me from myself at this time.  But while I'm functioning okay as I'm still in a great deal of shock and my current mode is auto pilot, certain hours of the day prove to me that I'm very jumbled up and confused about my mom's passing.  I suddenly don't know what I'm in for and I don't know what I'm doing.
Not knowing what I'm doing …
