Hey! First things first:
- I am okay and away from the fires in Los Angeles and nearby parts of southern California. Thank you to all who asked!
- Sorry it was a slow posting week! I can't seem to find a rhythm with my new schedule and blogging, but I am working on it!
When I moved to California I expected to finally be able to wear dresses and skirts everywhere! I'm not someone who hashtags #alldressalways as I do wear shorts and pants occasionally, but I figured with the weather I'd have a million more opportunities to wear dresses and what not.
HOW adorable I was!
Though I identify as a writer/creator, I have started taking some performance based classes to not leave stones unturned. I very quickly realized just how physical improv is and how wearing a skirt/dress is generally a terrible idea. For those who may not understand, you can never predict what you'll be doing in improv so you may end up on the floor or in compromising positions here and there. I also got the chance to do some physical comedy in a non-improv performance class at The Second City (involving falling down and committing to the point of bruising), which is yet another example of why I need to wear pants in probably ALL performance classes.
Needless to say I've been upgrading my pants and shorts game! I've always loved fun and crazy pants but for several years have been more focused on dresses. I welcome this opportunity, though I will say that between always being out at night (it gets kind of chilly here in the evening) and it having been windy the past week, I'm ready to wear skirts more full time again!
On days I have time to do photos I will start sharing on the blog what I wore to any improv and performance based classes, as it's a new challenge! Hopefully I can present some fun options for those who enjoy wearing pants, and maybe inspire some of y'all who hate wearing pants!
Nasty Gal has a fun pants collection, especially of the flared variety--which I prefer. Full disclosure: some are of questionable quality, but some are pretty awesome. The ones I'm wearing are the If You Leaf Me Now Ruffle pants (size 2 for measure). I loved wearing these floral flares from Nasty Gal to my improv class at UCB. This is still a very vintage look with the style of the pants, and sadly Friends debuted WAY too long ago and makes me feel old. Ha. But I guess Friends is vintage now!
I hope everyone has a lovely weekend! Stay safe if you're in California!
