Hello, friends! You may remember a month or so back when I debuted a pair of Wrangler Jeans for ModCloth. If not, click HERE. I talked about the fit and how there was no stretch. When I received these 70th Anniversary Flare Jeans in the mail, I actually laughed out loud. I loved them, being a sucker for front facing pockets and all, but they looked super narrow and I wasn't convinced I would fit in them. However, upon trying them on I realized they had TONS of stretch and as you can see, they do in fact fit.
For measure, these bad boys are size 25/32. I find it's rare to be able to purchase pants where you can choose your inseam and waist, so go Wrangler for giving us options!
I love these 70th Anniversary Flare Jeans because they're such a true shade of blue denim that is so hard to find nowadays! And as I mentioned, I love front square pockets on pants. I used to think Gilligan from Gilligan's Island rocked jeans with front facing pockets, but apparently I'm dead wrong about that. Regardless, I've been calling front facing pocket jeans "Gilligan Pants" since I was 17 and I've decided I'm going to continue to do so!
Rounding out these Anniversary Flare Jean (or, Gilligan Pants...) I decided to base the rest of the look part in the 70s and part hard to peg which decade this look is from. I'm obsessed with Heart of Haute's novelty tops and the Hula girl print Ella top is SO perfect for summer. (This shirt was famously worn when I had the biggest laughing fit of my life, on camera, for a Just Shair taping about roller skating. We brought up the Facts of Life and how ridiculous it was that Tootie was on roller skates for an entire season and for whatever reason it hit my funny bone so hard that we made a whole 4 minute blooper spinoff video just about that. If you didn't see it and love watching people laugh when they're supposed to keep it together, watch that HERE.)
I've had these Jessica Simpson shoes for forever and like the top, they are also the perfect summer shoes--plus they match the top! Recently I've become obsessed with Kate Spade Byrdie bags. They have a lot of color block options and I just loved the muted green on this bag. The Byrdie bags are super practical because crossbodies are easy to carry around and the bag is really deep, which is perfect for carrying phones and wallets and such. Plus they are a little more bold with their unusual shape, but still sleek and fashionable. The green in the bag also matched the grass skirts, so it was perfect.
Wrangler really makes some great products and their 70th anniversary line is still (largely) available for purchase, so please click HERE to peruse the entire inventory. And if you missed any Wrangler posts by me, HERE is the ModCloth collaboration they did, HERE is a look featuring a mini skirt and logo tee, and HERE you can find all about their awesome cropped denim jacket.
I hope everyone is having a great week and that's warm wherever you are! Denver has been kind of chilly and I've ever other parts of the country have been colder as well! What's going on August?!
