Dog Days of...Winter

Apologies for the blogger break!  Just Shair took over my life this weekend (in a great way) and my allergies have been nutso with the back and forth weather we've been having, and I wasn't ahead of photo taking and drafting out posts for the first time in a while.  I'm working on getting back on track!  How are you all?

Dog dresses are my favorite.  In the vintage/pinup communities it appears that cat dresses are more common, so it's such a treat to find dog print dresses!  Lindy Bop put this number out really recently and I totally fell in love.  It's called the Amelie Green Print Tea dress and I adore that it's against a lime green background and that it's a different silhouette than most Lindy Bop dresses that I've seen.   My ONLY complaint is that the fabric is super clingy due to static.  Maybe once winter is over it'll be better?  I took a few photos I had to leave out of the post because the cling wasn't flattering.  But other than that I love the dress!  This is my first Lindy Bop dress, but I reviewed two skirts from them a few months back (HERE!)

Style Details:  I wanted to play with reds to make the red on the dress pop out and I added my lemon Kate Spade bag to mix prints, stick with similar colors, and then add some yellow into the equation.  Seriously...my mind is totally in spring now!!
I hope everyone has been having a lovely week and I will be posting the rest of the week! Break over, ha!  Have a great evening and I'll see you tomorrow!!

  1. You're right, it isn't easy to find dog prints. But this dress is so cute! It looks fabulous with your hair! And I love the lemon purse. Hope you're feeling better!

  2. Oh, I hope the allergy is Ok now! The weather with so many changes plays a bad role for allergies, but I hope you are OK now! At first, I thought it was a floral dress, then I read the title and saw, the print is super sweet, dogs! How cute, and the color, together with the bag, such a great outfit! I love red, so the shoes are superb, in my opinion! You look amazing! I hope that you have a great weekend and don't worry, we all have breaks, that we need - blogging is great, but breaks are needed too! Hugs!

  3. The weather has been absolutely nuts! It was in the sixties yesterday and today it was snowing all day long. I have no clue what to expect when I head out the door anymore. I'm right there with you and I'm so ready for Spring!

  4. So cute! I never would have guessed from the cut and material that it's Lindy Bop. It's a very non Lindy Bopish look. I love the color on you and love how you played up the spring colors in this look. Have you tried wearing it with a slip? I hear slips can help with keeping static cling at bay.

Go CUBS!

Hey, all!  I'm a big baseball fan and my mom is from Chicago so I grew up hearing about the Cubs history and am pretty amped to be here at game 7!  Anyone else into this year's World Series or have a fan favorite they're rooting for?
Anyway, I just wanted to do a quick post showing my fandom!  I decided to be silly and wear my Cubs tee with a skirt (same as my zombie skirt) from Retrolicious via ModCloth with bears all over them...get it?  Hehe. I'm not into totally normal sports attire, as I exhibited HERE. Stay safe tonight if you're out watching tonight!

What time is it?  THE TIME IS NOW.  Okay, now that I've gotten my favorite line from a Kids in the Hall sketch that I saw when I was 12 out of my system let's get to business!  The time is actually time to register for a watch giveaway and/or get a coupon, all thanks to JORD Watches. I'm rocking the Frankie Purple and Plum and seriously loving it.  I love how big the face is and it compliments my hair and many of my frequent signature colors that I wear.  The watches are made from wood so they're very durable and sturdy.  I thought the watches w…

Ocean Front Members Only

Is this a style post only I could bring you or what?  Not only did I mix prints (three times, as the Forever 21 shirt is gingham, the ModCloth briefcase is dinosaur printed, and my true vintage skirt is an ocean front border print!) but I'm mixing vintage with modern fashion.  It seems that many vintage-y bloggers tend to stray from any trends, which is silly to me because these bomber jackets are SO comfortable and practical for between seasons weather (and frankly, Members Only IS a vintage brand)!  I tied this whole look together with using the Members Only Satin Washed Boyfriend Jacket in burgundy with these platform heels from Amazon by Dadawen.  I feel the burgundy bookends bounce off the greens and blues nicely.

How's everyone's week been?  Thanks for allowing me to take a week off!  Not only did I have obligations at the Comedy Central Stage and the Upright Citizen's Brigade stage this week, but I was hosting one of my very best friends who came to visit me!  …
