White Trash Circus

All About the Outfit:
I'm mildly afraid of clowns, which is ironic as I self-identify with the phrase "tears of a clown" and have been slowly making my way into the comedy world.  Okay, I'm not "afraid" of clowns as much as quite "uncomfortable" with them, but still!  The joy of clowns is lost on me either way.  So when I first saw this skirt I wasn't sure it was for me, despite how lovely the color scheme was and that it also had my beloved elephants all over it.  Eventually I blocked out the clown aspect and saw what a cool skirt it was, and snagged it while it was on sale on ModCloth earlier this month.

I don't wear midi skirts as much in the summer, though I have several posts coming down the pipe showcasing them!  It's just soooooo hot here in the summer and the heatwave started mega early this year.  Shorter skirts/dresses and even shorts are probably going to be my MO this summer.  But recently a lot of my purchases have been midi length, so they make their way here on the blog haha.  I feel like I had the opposite problem this winter as I invested in a lot of shorter dresses and found a way to make them appear on the blog in the dead of winter!  Apparently I don't shop seasonally, lol!

ANYWAY, when I do wear midi skirts in the summer it's often with a crop top.  It's a great way to beat the heat and show some skin without being sleazy as the skirt covers a lot of your legs.

PS/Heads Up: I've been okay at putting out content the past few weeks, but have been terrible at advertising said content and networking with other bloggers due to a combination of technical difficulties and schedule.  Hoping to be fixing that soon!  Feel free to click through recent links at the bottom of this or go on my YouTube page.  I'm going to try to play catch up with putting links on their proper social media platforms and catch up with fellow bloggers over the next day or so!  XO

Music Time!
"White Trash Circus."  Haha, hopefully I don't "look" white trash in this look, but Motley Crue has a song called that and I just thought it was fun and pseudo fitting due to the circus theme on the skirt.  You know me...any excuse to inject some hair metal fun into a blog post :-p

  1. Looking lovely, as usual! Very beautiful! I like midi skirts for summer as well, or short one for winter :) Actually I only wear midi or maxi, so I am biased to talk about your outfit, it's really lovely! I think some people are afraid of clowns - I remember when I was a child and my class group was invited to a TV show, to dance (because we danced); I think I was 5, family and friends watching TV to see me :) and suddenly a clown came to stage and I started to cry like crazy :) Hahaha! The print of the skirt is sweet, though! Creative! Your shoes are always amazing! Hope you have a nice week, dear Lauren (Blair) :)

  2. You rock, this look is amazing. Fabulous styling.

  7. Just so cute and dare I say a bit sexy as the same time! Crop tops with midi's always feel sexy to me haha. I'm with you on the clowns too. I don't get the appeal and feel uncomfortable around them. This skirt though has a cool print and color scheme so I would overlook it too lol. Adorable heart shaped sunnies too!

  8. The skirt is so cool ;)

Hey, all!  I'm a big baseball fan and my mom is from Chicago so I grew up hearing about the Cubs history and am pretty amped to be here at game 7!  Anyone else into this year's World Series or have a fan favorite they're rooting for?
Anyway, I just wanted to do a quick post showing my fandom!  I decided to be silly and wear my Cubs tee with a skirt (same as my zombie skirt) from Retrolicious via ModCloth with bears all over them...get it?  Hehe. I'm not into totally normal sports attire, as I exhibited HERE. Stay safe tonight if you're out watching tonight!

Ocean Front Members Only

Is this a style post only I could bring you or what?  Not only did I mix prints (three times, as the Forever 21 shirt is gingham, the ModCloth briefcase is dinosaur printed, and my true vintage skirt is an ocean front border print!) but I'm mixing vintage with modern fashion.  It seems that many vintage-y bloggers tend to stray from any trends, which is silly to me because these bomber jackets are SO comfortable and practical for between seasons weather (and frankly, Members Only IS a vintage brand)!  I tied this whole look together with using the Members Only Satin Washed Boyfriend Jacket in burgundy with these platform heels from Amazon by Dadawen.  I feel the burgundy bookends bounce off the greens and blues nicely.

How's everyone's week been?  Thanks for allowing me to take a week off!  Not only did I have obligations at the Comedy Central Stage and the Upright Citizen's Brigade stage this week, but I was hosting one of my very best friends who came to visit me!  …
