Automatic Flowers

All About the Outfit:
If this skirt looks familiar to you, there's maybe a few reasons for that.  For one, it's been on ModCloth for give or take...roughly forever (until it's recent sell out...#sad), so if you've ever browsed that site, you may have seen this popular skirt.  I also featured this skirt earlier this winter on the blog!  I got this skirt at the end of 2015 and I love it so much that I've decided to feature it every season for the next year to show off how versatile it is.

Though it's the 11th hour of spring, it still is technically spring!  So for the spring outfit involving this amazing Ikebana for All Skirt in Floral I decided to show off it's purples.  From the moment I got the skirt I knew I wanted to wear this J Crew Factory top that I've had forever with it.  Florals and stripes are possibly amongst the easiest to mix prints with and this purple top was an obvious choice for this skirt.  Initially I was thinking of wearing one of my purple shoes, but at the last second I decided to go for these white G by Guess pumps and pair my new (to me) Dooney and Bourke bag with them.  This outfit is not only easy for spring, but also serves as an early summer outfit as well.  I added in some subtle whimsy with a purple gorilla eating a banana brooch, for both some color matching but also to add some eccentricity that I'm known for in this otherwise classic outfit ;)

Music Time!
I decided to go with a floral song name to call this blog post, and I landed on an Our Lady Peace song, "Automatic Flowers."  Though I claim to be good at music trivia and such, I actually have no idea what happened to those guys!  Seriously, does anyone know if they are still around?  They're something of a forgotten band in my immense musical memory, but the second I do hear them so many memories of 8th grade come rushing back to me and I recall that they were one of my favorites as an early teen.  8th grade kind of sucked though, so maybe that's why I block them out??  Anyway, I listened to their Clumsy album (where "Automatic Flowers" is from) recently and while I find the sound to be ever so slightly dated, I did enjoy it and don't feel embarrassed by liking them!  Here they are!

Hey, all!  I'm a big baseball fan and my mom is from Chicago so I grew up hearing about the Cubs history and am pretty amped to be here at game 7!  Anyone else into this year's World Series or have a fan favorite they're rooting for?
Anyway, I just wanted to do a quick post showing my fandom!  I decided to be silly and wear my Cubs tee with a skirt (same as my zombie skirt) from Retrolicious via ModCloth with bears all over them...get it?  Hehe. I'm not into totally normal sports attire, as I exhibited HERE. Stay safe tonight if you're out watching tonight!

Win $100 Towards a JORD Watch!

What time is it?  THE TIME IS NOW.  Okay, now that I've gotten my favorite line from a Kids in the Hall sketch that I saw when I was 12 out of my system let's get to business!  The time is actually time to register for a watch giveaway and/or get a coupon, all thanks to JORD Watches. (Pronounced "Youd" as in like toad or road.  OR "Yoda" with no "a.")

Check out THIS LINK to try to get $100  towards a JORD watch and free sizing AND shipping.  This will go on for two weeks, so hop to it!  You can also get a $25 coupon with the code "blairosaurus" over the next two weeks too.  And if there's any menfolk out there reading, JORD has both women and mens watches.  Yay!

I'm rocking the Frankie Purple and Plum and seriously loving it.  I love how big the face is and it compliments my hair and many of my frequent signature colors that I wear.  The watches are made from wood so they're very durable and sturdy.  I thought the watches w…

Ocean Front Members Only

Is this a style post only I could bring you or what?  Not only did I mix prints (three times, as the Forever 21 shirt is gingham, the ModCloth briefcase is dinosaur printed, and my true vintage skirt is an ocean front border print!) but I'm mixing vintage with modern fashion.  It seems that many vintage-y bloggers tend to stray from any trends, which is silly to me because these bomber jackets are SO comfortable and practical for between seasons weather (and frankly, Members Only IS a vintage brand)!  I tied this whole look together with using the Members Only Satin Washed Boyfriend Jacket in burgundy with these platform heels from Amazon by Dadawen.  I feel the burgundy bookends bounce off the greens and blues nicely.

How's everyone's week been?  Thanks for allowing me to take a week off!  Not only did I have obligations at the Comedy Central Stage and the Upright Citizen's Brigade stage this week, but I was hosting one of my very best friends who came to visit me!  …
