Foxy, Foxy

Monday Announcements:

  • Hey all!  I only have one but kind of big announcement this week, and that is that my comedy project, Just Shair!, is off the ground now.  We're working out some kinks with our official site, but below is our YouTube video followed by all (current) social media accounts (we follow back fellow blogger and personalities that we recognize, PS).  This week we cover St Patrick's Day, as it is later this week.  So take a gander if you wanna giggle, or at least see me in live action as I always get a kick out of watching other bloggers in videos after reading their blogs (I believe this is my first video I've EVER shared with any of you!)  Hope you enjoy!

About the dress: A LOT of girls saw this dress as a Christmas dress.  I mean, it is red and green, sure.  But it has foxes all over it and they aren't Christmas-y per se.  A few foxes are wearing red and white stripped sweaters, but I see that as more of a Where's Waldo? theme.  So I decided to go against the norm and fancy this dress an all-seasons dress.

Proving my point I added yellow for the accessories, so it really doesn't look like one holiday or another.  That said, it is officially GREEN week with it being St Patrick's day this week!  A lot of people get stuck in the trap of only wearing green shirts, but here's an example of a green dress.  I personally don't believe you have to wear green head to toe, which is another reason why I added yellow as a St Patrick's day outfit inspiration.  I think that if green is your base color, you're doing just fine!

Style details:  This Retrolicious dress is originally from ModCloth, but has since sold out.  Unique Vintage still carries it HERE though.  The cardigan is Target Style, the brooch is Erstwilder, and the shoes are Nine West.

Music Time: I've done a lot of fox themed outfits lately, it seems!  This time around I'm using yet another song with "Fox" in the song title, "Foxy Foxy" by Rob Zombie (or, Bobby Zombie, as I think it's fun to call him).  I saw him in concert a few years back and while I am a fan, I have to say there were too many pyrotechnics for my taste...and a lot of screaming.  Also, his fans terrified me.  One girl had Charles Manson tattooed on her back...yikes.  But I still love his music, so here he is on my blog!

I've recently added two pages to this blog, one that catalogues posts named after songs and another that catalogues all of the concert stories.  Click the links on to see for yourself!  Happy Friday!

  3. YAY, it's here! I really enjoyed your first video!! You two are a great pair of funny ladies, and it was really neat to see a video of you after getting to know each other a bit through words and still photographs!

I'm super into this outfit, too -- yellow and green are a great combination, and I think you did a wonderful job of making this dress a spring-friendly option :). Those were actually my two favorite colors as a kid. I wore out the lime green and yellow-green crayons in my first big Crayola box.

Apropos of your Rob Zombie concert story -- sometimes it just blows my mind that Dita Von Teese was married to Marilyn Manson!

  4. Awe your dress is so cute, perfect for St.Paddys Day

  5. What a cute dress! I love the colour combination you've put together - very bright and happy x

  6. Congrats on your project Lauren! Love your dress! That bright green is fabulous!

  7. Congrats on getting your comedy stuff up and running! I love how you added yellow to this. I didn't get a Christmas vibe at all.

  10. I love your outfit, Lauren, the yellow and green look so pretty paired together! I also loved watching the video, you two are too cute and funny! It was nice getting to pair a voice with the face :) My grandmother (mom's mom) was born and raised in County Dublin. I have nearly no Irish features, haha, but both my mom and sister have the red hair and freckles. Growing up, my mom would go all out for St. Patty's day and I had to wear all the pins, beads and hats to school, embarrassing! Anyway, I hope you're having a great day so far and thank so much for sharing!

  11. Congrats! Love the yellow with that dress.

    pumps and push-ups

  16. Ahhh! I loved seeing you two in action! And I love that you went to a burrito place for St. Patty's day lol. Looking forward to seeing more videos! Congrats on your first one - it was hilarious! :) Also, your dress is gorgeous, and I honestly didn't think of Christmas at all when I first saw it...definitely all seasons! :)

  17. Congrats on starting the comedy channel! Hope it does really well for you :)

I like your festive outfit too, the yellow was a great choice with the green, perfect for St Patrick's day :)

  26. Definitely vintagey. And I like those pumps - reminds me of swing dancing style! Love swing dancing. :)

  27. Style Queen for life damn girl!!! I adore it with the yellow and it adds so much dimension to it plus the red (buttons?) are perfectly placed! Ahhhh I love how you blended your girls names together for Just Shair (so clever) and the jokes you make with it... just share XD hahaha. What so you're not going to chose "What does the fox say?" for your song??? ;)

Hey, all!  I'm a big baseball fan and my mom is from Chicago so I grew up hearing about the Cubs history and am pretty amped to be here at game 7!  Anyone else into this year's World Series or have a fan favorite they're rooting for?
Anyway, I just wanted to do a quick post showing my fandom!  I decided to be silly and wear my Cubs tee with a skirt (same as my zombie skirt) from Retrolicious via ModCloth with bears all over them...get it?  Hehe. I'm not into totally normal sports attire, as I exhibited HERE. Stay safe tonight if you're out watching tonight!

Win $100 Towards a JORD Watch!

What time is it?  THE TIME IS NOW.  Okay, now that I've gotten my favorite line from a Kids in the Hall sketch that I saw when I was 12 out of my system let's get to business!  The time is actually time to register for a watch giveaway and/or get a coupon, all thanks to JORD Watches. (Pronounced "Youd" as in like toad or road.  OR "Yoda" with no "a.")

Check out THIS LINK to try to get $100  towards a JORD watch and free sizing AND shipping.  This will go on for two weeks, so hop to it!  You can also get a $25 coupon with the code "blairosaurus" over the next two weeks too.  And if there's any menfolk out there reading, JORD has both women and mens watches.  Yay!

I'm rocking the Frankie Purple and Plum and seriously loving it.  I love how big the face is and it compliments my hair and many of my frequent signature colors that I wear.  The watches are made from wood so they're very durable and sturdy.  I thought the watches w…

Ocean Front Members Only

Is this a style post only I could bring you or what?  Not only did I mix prints (three times, as the Forever 21 shirt is gingham, the ModCloth briefcase is dinosaur printed, and my true vintage skirt is an ocean front border print!) but I'm mixing vintage with modern fashion.  It seems that many vintage-y bloggers tend to stray from any trends, which is silly to me because these bomber jackets are SO comfortable and practical for between seasons weather (and frankly, Members Only IS a vintage brand)!  I tied this whole look together with using the Members Only Satin Washed Boyfriend Jacket in burgundy with these platform heels from Amazon by Dadawen.  I feel the burgundy bookends bounce off the greens and blues nicely.

How's everyone's week been?  Thanks for allowing me to take a week off!  Not only did I have obligations at the Comedy Central Stage and the Upright Citizen's Brigade stage this week, but I was hosting one of my very best friends who came to visit me!  …
