Dirty Paws

All about the outfit!
As a dog owner/lover, I knew I had to have this dress when it dropped!  Paw prints everywhere?  Yes please!  I saw somewhere in Internet-land that this dress was actually labeled as "cat paw prints", but honestly, is there a difference between cat and dog paw prints?  It's like those skeletons in a line up photos that all look alike and only underneath them do you see labels, such as "straight/gay/man/woman/etc."  I think paw prints could make a similar statement, haha.

I'm not superstitious, but I wore almost this exact outfit to my beagle's surgery day last month except with my somewhat infamous red boots.  It just felt appropriate, especially with my beagle brooch (my beagle has the exact same shirt!).  I never got a photo of me in it though, so I recreated the look but with black pumps for a "whimsical meets classic" look.  And why not?  My beagle is a-okay now so this isn't a "bad memory" dress, haha.

Style Details:

  • Dress is Retrolicious via ModCloth (no longer available) but can be found on the Folter site or on Amazon.
  • Brooch is Erstwilder.  (Recently sold out!  Check with their stockiest or eBay!
  • Shoes are G by Guess via DSW.

Motivational!
Have fun in life!  I've been recently reminding myself to have fun in all situations.  Fun can be brought to you on occasion, but sometimes you have to have a "fun mindset" to have the most fun possible in life.

Music Time!
This post was named after a Of Monsters and Men song, "Dirty Paws."  Obvious connection, no?  Of Monsters and Men are a band that I like a lot, aren't necessarily my favorites or go to music, and yet they're in an elite group that are the national bands that I have seen more than once!  One of my best friends is super into them and he had an extra ticket for both a show at the Fillmore Auditorium in Denver in 2012 and at Red Rocks (with Vampire Weekend!) in 2013, so I found myself at those shows with him.  They are really good live, so I highly recommend seeing them if possible!
I've recently added two pages to this blog, one that catalogues posts named after songs and another that catalogues all of the concert stories.  Click the links on to see for yourself!  Happy Friday!

Go CUBS!

Hey, all!  I'm a big baseball fan and my mom is from Chicago so I grew up hearing about the Cubs history and am pretty amped to be here at game 7!  Anyone else into this year's World Series or have a fan favorite they're rooting for?
Anyway, I just wanted to do a quick post showing my fandom!  I decided to be silly and wear my Cubs tee with a skirt (same as my zombie skirt) from Retrolicious via ModCloth with bears all over them...get it?  Hehe. I'm not into totally normal sports attire, as I exhibited HERE. Stay safe tonight if you're out watching tonight!

Win $100 Towards a JORD Watch!

What time is it?  THE TIME IS NOW.  Okay, now that I've gotten my favorite line from a Kids in the Hall sketch that I saw when I was 12 out of my system let's get to business!  The time is actually time to register for a watch giveaway and/or get a coupon, all thanks to JORD Watches. (Pronounced "Youd" as in like toad or road.  OR "Yoda" with no "a.")

Check out THIS LINK to try to get $100  towards a JORD watch and free sizing AND shipping.  This will go on for two weeks, so hop to it!  You can also get a $25 coupon with the code "blairosaurus" over the next two weeks too.  And if there's any menfolk out there reading, JORD has both women and mens watches.  Yay!

I'm rocking the Frankie Purple and Plum and seriously loving it.  I love how big the face is and it compliments my hair and many of my frequent signature colors that I wear.  The watches are made from wood so they're very durable and sturdy.  I thought the watches w…

Ocean Front Members Only

Is this a style post only I could bring you or what?  Not only did I mix prints (three times, as the Forever 21 shirt is gingham, the ModCloth briefcase is dinosaur printed, and my true vintage skirt is an ocean front border print!) but I'm mixing vintage with modern fashion.  It seems that many vintage-y bloggers tend to stray from any trends, which is silly to me because these bomber jackets are SO comfortable and practical for between seasons weather (and frankly, Members Only IS a vintage brand)!  I tied this whole look together with using the Members Only Satin Washed Boyfriend Jacket in burgundy with these platform heels from Amazon by Dadawen.  I feel the burgundy bookends bounce off the greens and blues nicely.

How's everyone's week been?  Thanks for allowing me to take a week off!  Not only did I have obligations at the Comedy Central Stage and the Upright Citizen's Brigade stage this week, but I was hosting one of my very best friends who came to visit me!  …
