Greetings! I didn't mean to take over a week off from the blogosphere! A perfect storm of my dog's surgery, striking out 3x the past 2 weeks in an attempt to get the next month's photos (weather issues, usual spots being occupied, etc), and realizing I may need a slight break caused this.
- Thank you all so much to those who inquired about my beagle's surgery! As of Tuesday, I learned that she is in fact now officially CANCER FREE! I'm so excited. This whole experience was surreal. Other than the fact that she's an aging dog and has slowed down some over the past few years, she hasn't seemed sick in the slightest. She was PISSED after the surgery, but the next day she was strutting through the hallways and happy as a clam. If lab results came back that the cancer had spread I would have had an aneurysm out of confusion. Once the stitches come out next week and her purple cone can be removed, this will be a weird distant memory! Thanks again!
- For those who are intrigued about my upcoming comedy ventures....check back with me March 17th (St. Patrick's day)!!! Things will not be fully launched then, but official announcements and new social media will be debuted and the actual content will be coming at you in either April or possibly early May. I feel so happy and privileged to be announcing this since my first comedy project I teased you guys about combusted a few weeks into filming. Seriously...I can't express how excited I am to be a month out from this starting to publicly snowball into whatever it will become!
About the outfit: This dress is from Retrolicious and I got it Black Friday week on super clearance from Unique Vintage. (Seriously, the reason I own so many Retrolicious/Folter dresses + Bernies are that I wait for sales, haha). This dress has been around for a few years and I had wanted it for a while. It used to be on ModCloth--I thought it still was--but apparently it's out of stock (I feel like they've restocked this a few times before unexpectedly, so perhaps they will again). You can find it here on Folter's website.
Style details: The rest of the outfit showcases sunglasses from a promotional event (haha), a Banana Republic cardigan, Deer Arrow brooch, earrings from Old Navy, a Pinup Girl Clothing belt, Dooney and Burke purse, and Ralph Lauren shoes via DSW.
Music time: It's hard not to like Stevie Wonder. Talented, Motown bred, and all-around hit maker who seemingly has had respect in every decade since the 60s...no small feat! Some of the cheesier hits of his aren't necessarily my faves, but I also don't turn the radio when they come on the radio either! "My Cherie Amour" is a good example of this, and given the romantic Paris theme of the dress it seemed like a fitting blog post title!
