Style by Portobello

Today I want to share with you a super fun collaboration that I did with a UK company, Style by Portabello.  They're a company who does surprise boxes, but they specialize in goods from vintage markets, specifically vintage accessories and jewelry.  So when they contacted me, I was pretty stoked because they seemed right up my alley!

Upon getting my package, I was pretty excited and curious to see what was inside.  What I found was a gray clutch that has a strap so it can be worn as a purse too, a pearl brooch, and a beaded coral necklace.  All of this was right up my alley, and frankly all things I needed!  I had actually hunted for a grey clutch earlier this year but couldn't find one that I liked, I need more colorful pink/orange necklaces, and having recently gotten into brooches it was nice to receive a classier piece as I keep reaching for the more novelty pieces.

I decided to take all these bad boys out for a test run and matched them to a ModCloth skirt, Tatyana blouse, Old Navy cardigan, Forever 21 headband, and Steve Madden (via DSW) shoes.  It's funny because I just did a post about how Denver isn't THAT cold.  Uh, on this day it was, but I think it was well worth it for the effect of the snow background and dainty outfit.  So as I said in this post, once in a blue moon is actually as cold as it looks!

Other intel about this fabulous company:

  • It's the first UK subscription box to deliver vintage fashion accessories to the subscriber's front door.
  • Each month the subscriber receivers 3 hand pick items from the Portabello Market in London's Notting Hill.  These are hand picked based off a style questionnaire that YOU fill out.
  • Orders can be a one-off or rolling subscription and can be cancelled at anytime.
  • Their website is HERE, their Twitter is HERE, and their Instagram is HERE!

I've recently added two pages to this blog, one that catalogues posts named after songs and another that catalogues all of the concert stories.  Click the links on to see for yourself!  Happy Friday!

Hey, all!  I'm a big baseball fan and my mom is from Chicago so I grew up hearing about the Cubs history and am pretty amped to be here at game 7!  Anyone else into this year's World Series or have a fan favorite they're rooting for?
Anyway, I just wanted to do a quick post showing my fandom!  I decided to be silly and wear my Cubs tee with a skirt (same as my zombie skirt) from Retrolicious via ModCloth with bears all over them...get it?  Hehe. I'm not into totally normal sports attire, as I exhibited HERE. Stay safe tonight if you're out watching tonight!

Win $100 Towards a JORD Watch!

What time is it?  THE TIME IS NOW.  Okay, now that I've gotten my favorite line from a Kids in the Hall sketch that I saw when I was 12 out of my system let's get to business!  The time is actually time to register for a watch giveaway and/or get a coupon, all thanks to JORD Watches. (Pronounced "Youd" as in like toad or road.  OR "Yoda" with no "a.")

Check out THIS LINK to try to get $100  towards a JORD watch and free sizing AND shipping.  This will go on for two weeks, so hop to it!  You can also get a $25 coupon with the code "blairosaurus" over the next two weeks too.  And if there's any menfolk out there reading, JORD has both women and mens watches.  Yay!

I'm rocking the Frankie Purple and Plum and seriously loving it.  I love how big the face is and it compliments my hair and many of my frequent signature colors that I wear.  The watches are made from wood so they're very durable and sturdy.  I thought the watches w…

Ocean Front Members Only

Is this a style post only I could bring you or what?  Not only did I mix prints (three times, as the Forever 21 shirt is gingham, the ModCloth briefcase is dinosaur printed, and my true vintage skirt is an ocean front border print!) but I'm mixing vintage with modern fashion.  It seems that many vintage-y bloggers tend to stray from any trends, which is silly to me because these bomber jackets are SO comfortable and practical for between seasons weather (and frankly, Members Only IS a vintage brand)!  I tied this whole look together with using the Members Only Satin Washed Boyfriend Jacket in burgundy with these platform heels from Amazon by Dadawen.  I feel the burgundy bookends bounce off the greens and blues nicely.

How's everyone's week been?  Thanks for allowing me to take a week off!  Not only did I have obligations at the Comedy Central Stage and the Upright Citizen's Brigade stage this week, but I was hosting one of my very best friends who came to visit me!  …
