Hey all!  I had a little mini hiatus due to some allergic reactions and having company in town (all at once), so blogging had to go out the window!  Apologies!  Here's a post that got delayed in all of that mess!!  I hope everyone had a great weekend and such :)

Animals that I love: dogs, lizards, alpacas, flamingos...and elephants!  Some elephant prints I can resist, but admittedly that is a small number!  This skirt is from Retrolicious via ModCloth.  Admittedly, some of Retrolicious's skirts fit awkwardly, but this one is pretty great.  I got an XS, which is rare for me to wear skirts in that size.  I emailed one of the stylists at ModCloth and asked for a size chart with measurements, and it said I should be an XS.  Granted, there's no room to grow (ha) but it does fit excellently.

I took this on a balmy day here in Denver.   Clearly it WAS cold (and snowing) a few days prior as there's snow on the ground that's still not melted, but this was a 50+ degree day in December.  I got so many compliments on this outfit when I went to Whole Foods immediately after this shoot.  Within this week I'm posting a blog post about how crazy Denver weather is, especially in the winter.  Everyone always comments with confusion about bare legs and snow in the background and such, so it's time to set the record straight!  Rounding out the outfit is an Erstwilder elephant brooch (appropriate, no?), Old Navy Cardigan, Le Bomb Shop pinup top, Jewelry from Old Navy and Forever 21, knee socks from Target, a Kate Spade handbag, and shoes from Nine West!

A week ago some of my relatives posted this article on Facebook.  I'm a rare Facebook checker (1 minute on the newsfeed a day-- tops) and I often roll my eyes at positivity posts as it's the same mumbo jumbo over again.  Boy, am I glad I both saw this and clicked it!  I was engaged with every last word that the writer had to say and so much of it hit very close to home.  I REALLY recommend clicking it, but the gist is that people need to stop belittling people's grief with cliches based on nothing factual.  And even when advice and such is factual, you still just need to stand still with someone and be there for them, without bombarding them with ideas on how to get over something.  But seriously read it, because this is such an eloquent and beautifully written piece that I could never dream of doing it justice with a few short sentences.  These are exact thoughts that I've had since I was a teenager and so few people have ever understood those thoughts.  If you've ever been frustrated with life, things out of your control, and how to make heads or tails of something...and felt unheard by those who love you, this is a must read.  Beacause was so powerful that I had to share this with you guys as a part of my positivity/motivational part of this blog post.  READ HERE!!!

There's not really a lot of songs about elephants!!  (Weird.) I decided to go with a more general term for the song title, using Def Leppard's "Animal" as this outfit post's title.  This is also one of my favorite Def Leppard songs, for the record!

I've recently added two pages to this blog, one that catalogues posts named after songs and another that catalogues all of the concert stories.  Click the links on to see for yourself!  Happy Friday!

"Healing and transformation can occur. But not if you’re not allowed to grieve." I really like that! Feeling what you do is so important and going through the stages of grief and allowing yourself to have whatever time you need is so important and something that should never ever be overlooked or undermined.

I really love "I acknowledge your pain. I’m here with you." that is amazing <3

Hey, all!  I'm a big baseball fan and my mom is from Chicago so I grew up hearing about the Cubs history and am pretty amped to be here at game 7!  Anyone else into this year's World Series or have a fan favorite they're rooting for?
Anyway, I just wanted to do a quick post showing my fandom!  I decided to be silly and wear my Cubs tee with a skirt (same as my zombie skirt) from Retrolicious via ModCloth with bears all over them...get it?  Hehe. I'm not into totally normal sports attire, as I exhibited HERE. Stay safe tonight if you're out watching tonight!

Win $100 Towards a JORD Watch!

What time is it?  THE TIME IS NOW.  Okay, now that I've gotten my favorite line from a Kids in the Hall sketch that I saw when I was 12 out of my system let's get to business!  The time is actually time to register for a watch giveaway and/or get a coupon, all thanks to JORD Watches. (Pronounced "Youd" as in like toad or road.  OR "Yoda" with no "a.")

Check out THIS LINK to try to get $100  towards a JORD watch and free sizing AND shipping.  This will go on for two weeks, so hop to it!  You can also get a $25 coupon with the code "blairosaurus" over the next two weeks too.  And if there's any menfolk out there reading, JORD has both women and mens watches.  Yay!

I'm rocking the Frankie Purple and Plum and seriously loving it.  I love how big the face is and it compliments my hair and many of my frequent signature colors that I wear.  The watches are made from wood so they're very durable and sturdy.  I thought the watches w…

Ocean Front Members Only

Is this a style post only I could bring you or what?  Not only did I mix prints (three times, as the Forever 21 shirt is gingham, the ModCloth briefcase is dinosaur printed, and my true vintage skirt is an ocean front border print!) but I'm mixing vintage with modern fashion.  It seems that many vintage-y bloggers tend to stray from any trends, which is silly to me because these bomber jackets are SO comfortable and practical for between seasons weather (and frankly, Members Only IS a vintage brand)!  I tied this whole look together with using the Members Only Satin Washed Boyfriend Jacket in burgundy with these platform heels from Amazon by Dadawen.  I feel the burgundy bookends bounce off the greens and blues nicely.

How's everyone's week been?  Thanks for allowing me to take a week off!  Not only did I have obligations at the Comedy Central Stage and the Upright Citizen's Brigade stage this week, but I was hosting one of my very best friends who came to visit me!  …
