Some ladies go all out with their vintage threads, pairing their duds with brooches, old time-y shoes, and full on vintage hair. It's fun; I do that sometimes as well. (Less so with the hair since I've grown out my bangs and swooping what's left of them back up in a bun is not a fun task...I miss easy to do beehives!) But I feel like so many vintage pieces stand alone that they don't need much to showcase a fun outfit full of character. This is one of those dresses for me. I photographed it once while on vacation with a head scarf on, and this Indian Summer I've been content to wear this with strappy heeled sandals (G by Guess) and walk out the door. Simple...yet bold.
Positivity and motivational time! Never judge what you don't understand. If someone's dream seems weird, or the way someone dresses seems off, or even someone's attitude is something that rubs you the wrong way, it's okay to not gravitate towards them, but don't judge. People always have reasons for the choices that they make. If you're coming from a relatable perspective, it's one thing to agree or disagree. But if you don't know about the topic or know someone's life story, withhold judgment. Do you like being cut off at the knees because someone says something to you that in their field of vision is a "trump card" but they are misunderstanding your whole world or point? If so, practice compassion before judgement or jumping to conclusions about someone else's decisions so you never cut them off at the knees. No matter how intelligent we are and no matter how many experiences we amass, there's always pieces of the puzzle that we're going to be missing.
