Flashback Friday: Birthday Outfits!

It's officially my birthday month!  I thought I'd share some flashback birthday pics to showcase how my style has evolved over the years!  Now, there's a bunch of missing birthdays for a few reasons, ranging from I can't locate the photos to I didn't get "outfit" pics until about two years ago, so there's a bunch of group shots that don't showcase any part of the outfit.  In no particular's some birthday fashion and behind the scenes stories for you!
This is a college birthday!  I still have (and wear) this Vinyl Rocks tee that I got from Forever 21 back in the day.  These are two of my dear friends from college whom I shared a bunch a laughs with as they absolutely rank as some of the top 10 funniest people I've ever met.  We'd "cancel classes" to go to the mall or beach, because duh, we're powerful like that.  If memory serves right, they couldn't make my birthday so they surprised me at my dorm with flowers and a balloon earlier in the day.  What did I do for my birthday that year???  I went to Hooters.  Why?  Because someone (kiddingly) suggested it and it dawned on me that Hooters could in fact seat 10-15 people easily at their tables and how funny would it be for a straight girl to have their party at Hooters??  Humor always wins in my book.  Later that night we went to a now closed down club in Miami, SoHo Lounge, because it was the only club I liked as it played old school hip hop, Franz Ferdinand, and 80s hits.  Plus because it was hipster-y nobody would try to grind up on you.
This doesn't show off the outfit from the SoHo Lounge part of the evening as much as I'd like it to, but this is still a good friend to this day (Tyler) and glitter and sequins were a HUGE part of the style of that year that even a still tomboyish girl like me couldn't refuse.
This was a few years ago and here I am all dressed up for a dinner date and posing with my birthday gift, a vintage cruiser bike.  This birthday had a ton of outfit changes as I did a big dinner with friends at one point, went to a rockies game, and had a huge party (that the cops busted up haha.  Telling the police it's your birthday is apparently not a good enough excuse to make them ignore noise complaints from cramming 40+ people in your one bedroom apartment.  Whoops!)  Sadly, NONE of those outfits were really showcased in photos as many selfies and whatnot were taken.  But just imagine my favorite outfit: red skinny jeans and a lavender Jim Morrison tee.  Hehe, such a rockstar at heart!
This was my "golden birthday", aka when I turned 23 on the 23rd.  I had dyed my hair kind of dark a few weeks before and if I were ever to be a brunette again this is the shade I'd probably choose as it's chocolatey and highlights my green eyes and easily tannable skin (I'm of confusing and mixed origins, heritage wise, so despite being 50% Irish I tan like nobody's business).  This was probably the best birthday I've ever had.  A few years ago another one came close, but there were just so many people that I loved there (pictured above one of my two best friends from childhood to this day, also named Lauren, and my brother Carter).  This birthday was full of silliness too and had nothing weird surrounding it, so I remember it very fondly.  Here's some of the silliness, as it was a) captured and b) highlights the outfit...and more:
Pretending to be you do.
Modeling all of the birthday gifts.  Is it clear yet that I NEED an outlet for being, oh I don't know....a YouTube comedy show ;) ;) ;) ;)

This was the birthday I mentioned above that rivals my 23rd birthday.  The year preceding this birthday was AWFUL.  Like, I was sick for the first 10 or so months of it.  I was anemic the whole year, had insane asthma issues (was on round the clock inhalers for a few weeks), discovered I had a pain disorder, and I could keep going!  It was no fun.  By July-ish I was starting to feel like my old self and my life was slowly returning to normal.  Flash forward to September, specifically a Thursday night just days before my real birthday, I was out with some friends when one of my friends mentioned that Total Ghost, our favorite local but pretends to be from Germany band, was playing a few blocks away from us later that night.  We were able to convince a few people to go and long story short, it ended up being a super late night.  Total Ghost pretends to be German pop superstars and sings colorful songs about how Mexico is this safe place where you can drink the water and such.  Haha.  They started by uploading a birthday song to YouTube and it went viral.  So they sang their birthday song to me and another guy that was there and it was a blast (the photos above are from me and my friends geeking out to the birthday song).  This was a really fun way to start a new year, especially given how rough the year before was.
That same birthday, but on my actual birthday that weekend, I had a big party on a rooftop bar in Denver over brunch hours.  Despite that I'm not the hugest football fan ever (look forward to an upcoming post on that...), my friend got me tickets to the Broncos game so I spent the rest of the afternoon there.  Fun times!!  It was a warm September day but was threatening to be cold, which is why I opted to wear jeans and then just change shirts for the game.  These were amongst my final days of being a jeans and tee shirt kind of girl, at least on a regular basis.
There are surprisingly not a ton of photos from this birthday, at least not ones where it's total drunken messy fun haha.  But I found this that showcases a) a new haircut and b) skinny jeans with a tank.
This birthday is from two years ago and I surprisingly had trouble finding good outfit photos from it!  This is a little bit surprisingly because I loved these shorts, but also was starting to get the itch to find some kind of fashion venue to showcase outfits.  About two months later it dawned on me that fashion blogging wasn't a bad idea!!  Here's another photo from it...just because:
I lost these sunglasses and totally miss them.

I had a Colorado AND Pennsylvania birthday last year!
This was from my Colorado celebration!  You can read all about it HERE.
And this was from my PA birthday.  If you click HERE to read about it, you'll see that I was referencing my childhood home that was about to sell.  In case you're confused, that deal fell through but earlier this summer my house did in fact sell.

What was your favorite birthday and why??

Hey, all!  I'm a big baseball fan and my mom is from Chicago so I grew up hearing about the Cubs history and am pretty amped to be here at game 7!  Anyone else into this year's World Series or have a fan favorite they're rooting for?
Anyway, I just wanted to do a quick post showing my fandom!  I decided to be silly and wear my Cubs tee with a skirt (same as my zombie skirt) from Retrolicious via ModCloth with bears all over them...get it?  Hehe. I'm not into totally normal sports attire, as I exhibited HERE. Stay safe tonight if you're out watching tonight!

Win $100 Towards a JORD Watch!

What time is it?  THE TIME IS NOW.  Okay, now that I've gotten my favorite line from a Kids in the Hall sketch that I saw when I was 12 out of my system let's get to business!  The time is actually time to register for a watch giveaway and/or get a coupon, all thanks to JORD Watches. (Pronounced "Youd" as in like toad or road.  OR "Yoda" with no "a.")

Check out THIS LINK to try to get $100  towards a JORD watch and free sizing AND shipping.  This will go on for two weeks, so hop to it!  You can also get a $25 coupon with the code "blairosaurus" over the next two weeks too.  And if there's any menfolk out there reading, JORD has both women and mens watches.  Yay!

I'm rocking the Frankie Purple and Plum and seriously loving it.  I love how big the face is and it compliments my hair and many of my frequent signature colors that I wear.  The watches are made from wood so they're very durable and sturdy.  I thought the watches w…

Ocean Front Members Only

Is this a style post only I could bring you or what?  Not only did I mix prints (three times, as the Forever 21 shirt is gingham, the ModCloth briefcase is dinosaur printed, and my true vintage skirt is an ocean front border print!) but I'm mixing vintage with modern fashion.  It seems that many vintage-y bloggers tend to stray from any trends, which is silly to me because these bomber jackets are SO comfortable and practical for between seasons weather (and frankly, Members Only IS a vintage brand)!  I tied this whole look together with using the Members Only Satin Washed Boyfriend Jacket in burgundy with these platform heels from Amazon by Dadawen.  I feel the burgundy bookends bounce off the greens and blues nicely.

How's everyone's week been?  Thanks for allowing me to take a week off!  Not only did I have obligations at the Comedy Central Stage and the Upright Citizen's Brigade stage this week, but I was hosting one of my very best friends who came to visit me!  …
