Always Love

Heya!  Welcome to Thursday, haha.  Can you believe August is already half over??  Honestly, this summer hasn't really felt like summer much.  It hasn't been super hot and it's rained a ton, which for Colorado is rare.  I took these photos two months ago at my (former) childhood home in PA.  I didn't have a great camera on me and the lighting was iffy so they're not perfect photos (my apologies), but this look represents a lot of my go-to outfits this summer.  It's no secret that I prefer skirts and dresses, especially in the summer but it's been kind of chilly here at times so I've worn a fair amount of pants.  I got these jeans from the Gap in PA two months ago and they've been great knock around pants.  They're a little big, but not too big so they're perfect for keeping it casual.  I've decided I'm going to embrace pants more this winter than I did last winter, but I'll elaborate on that more when the time gets closer.

For when I do wear pants, I do tend to spruce them up with heels!  Haha, that's my definition of going casual I suppose.  I paired this look with a concert tee shirt that I got from seeing Nada Surf.  I saw them in 2012 and they've written some of my all-time favorite songs with my all-time favorite lyrics. Truth...I didn't love them in concert and that bummed me out.  But my really close friend who I went with loved them and said I was crazy.  Different folks, different strokes friends!

Anyway, I'm considering using song titles as blog post titles as often as possible.  Music is (obviously)  a huge part of my life and it'll help cement the marriage about what my new url will be (when I finally switch it).  "Always Love" is the name of a Nada Surf song and the lyrics that I love the most from it are:

"Always love. Hate will get you every time.  Always love. Don't wait til the finish line."

Simple, but powerful.  And damn good advice.  The song is catchy (I uploaded the video at the end of the post if you want to hear it).  Another song with lyrics that I love are from "Concrete Bed" and they are:

"To find someone you love, you gotta be someone you love."

Damn those boys in Nada Surf are wise!

  20. I love Nada Surf!! I love that you love them too!! They were such a great band in the mid-2000s and were always featured on one my favorite shows, One Tree Hill - which I hope you've heard of as well. I recently added them to one of my spotify playlists so I find this so coincidental that you did a post about them :)

  30. Love this outfit! You look just as cute and dressy in pants as you do in skirts. :) And those heels are to die for! Sorry to hear it hasn't been very summery in Colorado - Wisconsin had a similar summer from what my parents told me. Jersey, however, has just about killed me with the hotness and humidity. I'm looking forward to wearing pants again someday, haha.

Hope you had a great weekend, Lauren!

Hey, all!  I'm a big baseball fan and my mom is from Chicago so I grew up hearing about the Cubs history and am pretty amped to be here at game 7!  Anyone else into this year's World Series or have a fan favorite they're rooting for?
Anyway, I just wanted to do a quick post showing my fandom!  I decided to be silly and wear my Cubs tee with a skirt (same as my zombie skirt) from Retrolicious via ModCloth with bears all over them...get it?  Hehe. I'm not into totally normal sports attire, as I exhibited HERE. Stay safe tonight if you're out watching tonight!

What time is it?  THE TIME IS NOW.  Okay, now that I've gotten my favorite line from a Kids in the Hall sketch that I saw when I was 12 out of my system let's get to business!  The time is actually time to register for a watch giveaway and/or get a coupon, all thanks to JORD Watches. Check out THIS LINK to try to get $100  towards a JORD watch and free sizing AND shipping.  This will go on for two weeks, so hop to it!  You can also get a $25 coupon with the code "blairosaurus" over the next two weeks too.  And if there's any menfolk out there reading, JORD has both women and mens watches.  Yay!

I'm rocking the Frankie Purple and Plum and seriously loving it.  I love how big the face is and it compliments my hair and many of my frequent signature colors that I wear.  The watches are made from wood so they're very durable and sturdy.  I thought the watches w…

Ocean Front Members Only

Is this a style post only I could bring you or what?  Not only did I mix prints (three times, as the Forever 21 shirt is gingham, the ModCloth briefcase is dinosaur printed, and my true vintage skirt is an ocean front border print!) but I'm mixing vintage with modern fashion.  It seems that many vintage-y bloggers tend to stray from any trends, which is silly to me because these bomber jackets are SO comfortable and practical for between seasons weather (and frankly, Members Only IS a vintage brand)!  I tied this whole look together with using the Members Only Satin Washed Boyfriend Jacket in burgundy with these platform heels from Amazon by Dadawen.  I feel the burgundy bookends bounce off the greens and blues nicely.

How's everyone's week been?  Thanks for allowing me to take a week off!  Not only did I have obligations at the Comedy Central Stage and the Upright Citizen's Brigade stage this week, but I was hosting one of my very best friends who came to visit me!  …
