Green Light

Greetings!  Can you tell that I love this crop top yet?  I've worn it in several posts this summer and it's certainly a staple!  Not worn enough this summer are these green high waisted shorts.  I wore them last summer while biking around Fort Collins as a means of being practical plus stylish.  Because the weather has been so back and forth here my plans to wear dress shorts a lot this summer have been somewhat derailed!  Oh well, I'll look forward to wearing shorts over tights come fall/winter!

Forgive me too, as I've been mega slow with blogging and such for about a week now.  Something in my wonderful state of Colorado is on fire and I'm having allergic reactions left and right.  I historically have energy issues too and I've been going strong all summer (yay!!!), but lately I've been feeling myself burning out a bit.  I guess having an allergic reaction coinciding with being fatigued isn't the worst combo--at least it's all at once.  Plus, it…

Music, Fashion, and Marilyn Manson & The Smashing Pumpkins

When I heard Marilyn Manson and the The Smashing Pumpkins were coming to town, I wanted to go.  But for various reasons I held off getting tickets until the day of.  The week before my crew of friends that were thinking about going, plus myself, scrapped the idea.  Then a day or so later I had second thoughts.  The show was on a Monday and that weekend I texted my friends saying I had had a change of heart and wanted to go.  My friend Kelsey said he was too was still up for going decided to go.  And boy, am I glad we did, as it was awesome!  But first, as always, let's start with the clothing choices!
I have to apologize a little bit for the photos here.  It was raining while the sun was still up, and the rain only stopped the second the sun was behind the mountain.  Plus it was chilly and I was starting to look like a wet rat, so I quit while I was ahead instead of getting better details.
From the second I started considering going to Marilyn Manson and Smashing Pumpkins, I tho…

Always Love

Heya!  Welcome to Thursday, haha.  Can you believe August is already half over??  Honestly, this summer hasn't really felt like summer much.  It hasn't been super hot and it's rained a ton, which for Colorado is rare.  I took these photos two months ago at my (former) childhood home in PA.  I didn't have a great camera on me and the lighting was iffy so they're not perfect photos (my apologies), but this look represents a lot of my go-to outfits this summer.  It's no secret that I prefer skirts and dresses, especially in the summer but it's been kind of chilly here at times so I've worn a fair amount of pants.  I got these jeans from the Gap in PA two months ago and they've been great knock around pants.  They're a little big, but not too big so they're perfect for keeping it casual.  I've decided I'm going to embrace pants more this winter than I did last winter, but I'll elaborate on that more when the time gets closer.
For wh…

Music, Fashion, and Joat Jett and the Blackhearts

When I was in college, most girls I knew were obsessed with Ashlee Simpson.  To say I was not is an understatement.  Part of my allergy to her, amongst other reasons, was that I had just discovered chicks who truly rocked, a la Pat Benatar, Blondie, Heart,...and Joan Jett.  When I was even younger than that I fell prey to the embarrassing idea that maybe women didn't rock as hard as men because I didn't know better.  Granted, when I first started watching MTV on the reg Lillith Fair was a new thing and even as a 13 year old I was baffled at why so many chicks were playing such crybaby songs on acoustic guitars.  I didn't understand why lady musicians didn't seem to be in metal bands or at least weren't playing the electric guitar (this was just after Liz Phair and Veruca Salt were ruling the airways and between Hole's biggest two albums so chick music was in limbo in regards to rocking hard).  ANYWAY, sometime in college I went on this huge late 70s and early …
