Gaga for Romwe: Part I

I've somewhat been recently introduced to the amazingness that is Romwe.  The website is sort of like a Chicwish meets Forever 21 with a little bit of ModCloth thrown into it here and there.  After eyeing several amazing novelty print skirts (my favorite) I fell in love with this one and another one I'll be featuring in a week or two.  What I love about this skirt is a few things: 1) green and purple are basically my favorite colors AND my favorite color scheme.  So yay!  But 2) something about this print screams rock and roll.  Specifically I keep hearing the song "Bonnie and Clyde" by Serge Gainsbourg & Brigitte Bardot (the song where Chuck and Blair are escaping Bart's death scene on the finale of Gossip Girl, for if you don't click the link).  Though I can't necessarily say why I think of that song as no matter how many times I look at this print I can't 100% figure out what's happening!  But regardless, I am totally in love with this skirt!
The Good:
Oh my goodness, the prints!  So many fun prints are happening on Romwe!  For a vintage/retro lover, especially those of us who love fun colors and crazy novelty prints, this clothing retailer is a dream!  And, it's a LOT less expensive than some of it's competitors!
The Bad:
The good with "the bad" is that most clothing items posted on the website are photographed from multiple different angles and the site has a great zoom function.  Therefore you can see that not all pieces of clothing are created equal.  A lot of skirts seem to have awkward fits/cuts and a lot of skirts have elastic in the really bulky and bunchy way.  While that isn't ideal, at least the zoom and photography is well done enough so you can investigate any piece to your heart's desire and decide if the quality is up your alley.  I did that with this skirt and the other one I got and I have zero regrets with it as both skirts are exactly what I was expecting.
The Ugly:
On the other skirt that I purchased, the zipper is a little tough though the fit is perfect.  Like, burns your fingers tough to zip it up.  BUT I did get it to work!  That said, this skirt is perfect so being that it's 50/50 so far I'm not sure if it's a norm or not.  I'm just pointing it out because it was a little bit disappointing!
Other points of interest:
The shipping was quick though not speedy.
They seem to add new items every day.
There's a discount for new customers.
There appears to be frequent sales and markdowns.
There does not appear to have plus sizes :(

Hey, all!  I'm a big baseball fan and my mom is from Chicago so I grew up hearing about the Cubs history and am pretty amped to be here at game 7!  Anyone else into this year's World Series or have a fan favorite they're rooting for?
Anyway, I just wanted to do a quick post showing my fandom!  I decided to be silly and wear my Cubs tee with a skirt (same as my zombie skirt) from Retrolicious via ModCloth with bears all over them...get it?  Hehe. I'm not into totally normal sports attire, as I exhibited HERE. Stay safe tonight if you're out watching tonight!

What time is it?  THE TIME IS NOW.  Okay, now that I've gotten my favorite line from a Kids in the Hall sketch that I saw when I was 12 out of my system let's get to business!  The time is actually time to register for a watch giveaway and/or get a coupon, all thanks to JORD Watches. (Pronounced "Youd" as in like toad or road.  OR "Yoda" with no "a.")

I'm rocking the Frankie Purple and Plum and seriously loving it.  I love how big the face is and it compliments my hair and many of my frequent signature colors that I wear.  The watches are made from wood so they're very durable and sturdy.  I thought the watches w…

Comedy and Tragedy

It was the best of times, and it was the worst of times.  I generally hate cliche quotes that can easily be slapped on memes or on the coffee mug of a basic b!tch, but I'm hard pressed to find a better phrase to describe my life currently.  In short: I've been having the most fun that I've ever had in the eight months since I moved to LA, but then the emergency breaks got slammed on my life when my mother fell gravely ill and passed away two weeks later on June 6th.
I'm currently back in LA, after being gone for three weeks.  I'm looking forward to continuing my comedy journey, as I feel it will save me from myself at this time.  But while I'm functioning okay as I'm still in a great deal of shock and my current mode is auto pilot, certain hours of the day prove to me that I'm very jumbled up and confused about my mom's passing.  I suddenly don't know what I'm in for and I don't know what I'm doing.
Not knowing what I'm doing …
