Last year I was stunned to find that Memorial Day Weekend had sales that were almost competitive with Black Friday weekend. Here are some of my favorite finds from last year and here's to hoping that the same venues do comparable sales!
Clearance" section, but a year ago it was called "Tatyana Outlet." On Memorial Day Weekend both their regular site and their outlet hosted a 50% off sale-even for their already reduced clothing! This oh-so Brady Bunch-esq dress (above) was $40, which meant it was reduced to $20. And there was a bird skirt (below) reduced from $20 to $10. I could experiment with these prices! I was on the fence about the dress but was totally in love with the skirt. Ironically I ended up liking the dress a lot more! I was worried that it would be slightly tacky in real life, but the colors make it so fun and bright. Plus I'm not afraid of loud fashion, so oh-well if anyone does think it's tacky! I got both pieces of clothing in an XS and while the dress fits perfectly, the bird skirt is a little snug-which is why I don't wear it too often. (I'm a 26 inch waist so if you're in that neighborhood and new to Tatyana, consider a small over an XS for their skirts!). But both pieces are amazing and I'm so glad I got introduced to this brand last year for such low prices. Now if I order Tatyana from other vendors besides their actual site, I know exactly what I'm getting which is a huge relief!
Last year was also my first foray into true vintage clothing! I had lusted after a few pieces for some time and was thrilled to find out that vintage stores also did online sales! So I bit the bullet and bought this lovely cabana beach babes printed skirt (above) and a yellow skirt with old time cars and street signs all over the print (below). Basically, this marks my vintage-aversary! Receiving these two pieces on the same day (despite ordering them from different stores) was like thinking that you knew what love was only to find out how wrong you'd been along now that you had discovered true love! My true vintage collection, especially the novelty print pieces, have become my absolute favorites in my closet. And it all started a year ago! PS-Check out @insta_truevintage if you haven't already! I've been on hiatus from posting due to an overwhelming schedule as of late, but will be starting up again ASAP!!!
Any places y'all are planning on shopping at this weekend? I'm hoping Tatyana does another 50% off sale because there's a dress or two that I'm eyeing. I'm also pulling for a Unique Vintage and Pinup Girl Clothing sale because those stores seem to have endless amounts of items that I covet in 2015. I'm hopeful for Folter/Retrolicious as well, because their novelty print game has been on point this year and they have such great summer dresses! Of course I'll be eyeing ModCloth and Chicwish as well. I'd love to hear about your shopping experiences + if you have any tips on where to find deals!! XO
