Sunday Vintage: 70s Flower Power Maxi Dress

I once called this dress "one of the most polarizing" dress I own  in a previous post about my vintage 70s dress collection.  In fact, I would say now it's probably the most polarizing dress I own period!  My mom thought spending $12 on it was $12 too many (although got really excited to stage and direct a photo shoot around it...) and my friends either love or hate this dress.  Though it doesn't get photographed every time I wear it (that occasionally happens to us fashion bloggers...) it's one of my go-to outfits because it's a) colorful, b) comfortable, and c) fun, and d) retro, e) is versatile for all seasons and f) is easy to pair with various cardigans, purses, and shoes.

I found this dress at the Buffalo Exchange in the "hipster" neighborhood of Denver.  For those who are unfamiliar, Buffalo Exchange is a place where you can trade in or sell your relatively recent and trendy clothes, but they also carry vintage as well.  Given that this BE is in the more fun part of town (in my humble opinion), it makes for some very nice finds and not strictly last season's "mall fashion"!  This dress is especially fun because there's so many options to pair it with, but white has been my staple for styling this dress all throughout the fall and winter.  Sometimes maxi dresses are super fun because they're comfortable but also dressy, so if you can make it a 70s style or true vintage one, it's double the fun...which is why I love this dress so much!  Plus I own a Kate Spade bag that closely resembles the print!  What fun! case you haven't heard, I've started a second Instagram account, @insta_truevintage!  This account is for all vintage loving and wearing girls to follow and tag their outfit photos to the account, OR hashtag #instatruevintage.  From there I'll share some of the looks I come across.  I'll be posting on here tomorrow some more details and frequently asked questions that have popped up already.  But for now please follow here!!!  Thank-you :)

Hey, all!  I'm a big baseball fan and my mom is from Chicago so I grew up hearing about the Cubs history and am pretty amped to be here at game 7!  Anyone else into this year's World Series or have a fan favorite they're rooting for?
Anyway, I just wanted to do a quick post showing my fandom!  I decided to be silly and wear my Cubs tee with a skirt (same as my zombie skirt) from Retrolicious via ModCloth with bears all over them...get it?  Hehe. I'm not into totally normal sports attire, as I exhibited HERE. Stay safe tonight if you're out watching tonight!

What time is it?  THE TIME IS NOW.  Okay, now that I've gotten my favorite line from a Kids in the Hall sketch that I saw when I was 12 out of my system let's get to business!  The time is actually time to register for a watch giveaway and/or get a coupon, all thanks to JORD Watches. (Pronounced "Youd" as in like toad or road.  OR "Yoda" with no "a.")

Check out THIS LINK to try to get $100  towards a JORD watch and free sizing AND shipping.  This will go on for two weeks, so hop to it!  You can also get a $25 coupon with the code "blairosaurus" over the next two weeks too.  And if there's any menfolk out there reading, JORD has both women and mens watches.  Yay!

I'm rocking the Frankie Purple and Plum and seriously loving it.  I love how big the face is and it compliments my hair and many of my frequent signature colors that I wear.  The watches are made from wood so they're very durable and sturdy.  I thought the watches w…

Ocean Front Members Only

Is this a style post only I could bring you or what?  Not only did I mix prints (three times, as the Forever 21 shirt is gingham, the ModCloth briefcase is dinosaur printed, and my true vintage skirt is an ocean front border print!) but I'm mixing vintage with modern fashion.  It seems that many vintage-y bloggers tend to stray from any trends, which is silly to me because these bomber jackets are SO comfortable and practical for between seasons weather (and frankly, Members Only IS a vintage brand)!  I tied this whole look together with using the Members Only Satin Washed Boyfriend Jacket in burgundy with these platform heels from Amazon by Dadawen.  I feel the burgundy bookends bounce off the greens and blues nicely.

How's everyone's week been?  Thanks for allowing me to take a week off!  Not only did I have obligations at the Comedy Central Stage and the Upright Citizen's Brigade stage this week, but I was hosting one of my very best friends who came to visit me!  …
